Upper Air Sounding

High performance systems carried aloft by balloons to accurately and simultaneously measure atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity, and wind data as they ascend through the atmosphere transmitting the data via telemetry to the ground station.

The data from the ground station is entered into a worldwide communications network and made available to forecast centres around the world to aid in forecast production and modeling.
