NEW SWS Present Weather Sensors
Introducing the new SWS present weather sensors for detecting snow, rain, drizzle, fog and haze.

The Safe Weather Sensors (SWS) are a cost effective solution for measuring visibility and present weather.
These present weather sensors are designed for use on highways and for general meteorological and wind energy applications.
Constructed of high-grade, powder-coated aluminum the SWS present weather sensors are suitable for use in most environmental conditions (although if salt-water corrosion (in marine applications) or other pollutants are a factor we recommend our fully corrosion-resistant HSS sensors) and have both digital and analogue outputs as well as relays for switching external equipment.
The SWS present weather sensors are based on the proven HSS technology of our higher specification HSS range of visibility and present weather sensors which have been in demand world-wide for over 20 years. Compare the SWS and HSS model lines.

Present Weather Sensor - SWS-100
SWS-100 Present Weather Sensor with a measuring range up to 2 km (1.2 miles) is designed for use on roads and tunnels. With both digital and analogue outputs the sensor can be integrated into Intelligent Transport Systems and used for automatically switching warning signs in changing visibility conditions.

Present Weather Sensor - SWS-200
SWS-200 Present Weather Sensor is designed for general meteorological applications. This model has a measuring range up to 20 km (12 miles) and with an extra backscatter head provides enhanced present weather information.
